All’inizio del ‘900 l’architettura moderna si è liberata da ogni orpello e ha ricercato quell’essenziale che vive all’interno delle funzione delle cose. Una grande rivoluzione artistica e culturale che inseguiva una forma eterna, inintaccabile dalla mode del momento. Una rivoluzione necessaria che, però, ha anche decretato la fine di tutto quel linguaggio simbolico e ornamentale che trasformava un semplice oggetto in un opera artistica totale realizzata da più maestranze. Oggi cosa rimane di questa grande rivoluzione? Il minimalismo è diventato esso stesso un orpello inerme? L’ennesimo vestito culturale da portare? Oppure si può riallacciare un dialogo con le altre arti e integrare l’espressività contemporanea con il design e l’architettura moderna? Perchè, alla fine, pur per quanto noi ricerchiamo l’eternità, siamo temporanei così come il linguaggio che ci appartiene.

Una lunga spiegazione per raccontare cosa sta sotto questo primo, tiepido tentativo: la prima lampada della serie Diorama.

At the beginning of the XX century, modern architecture freed itself from all tinsel and sought the essential that lives within the function of things. A great artistic and cultural revolution that pursued an eternal form, unimpeachable by the fashions of the moment. A necessary revolution that, however, has also decreed the end of all that symbolic and ornamental language that transformed a simple object into a total artistic work made by several workers. What remains of this great revolution today? Minimalism has itself become a helpless tinsel? The umpteenth cultural dress to wear? Or is it possible to start a new dialogue with the other arts and integrate contemporary expressiveness with modern design and architecture? Because, in the end, even though we search for eternity, we are temporary as well as the language that belongs to us.
